One of Wendy's hesitations with buying this apartment was the view from the front door: Straight back to a white porcelain bath sink. Eew.
But I thought, what if the sink were a beautiful Chinoiserie cabinet with a marble top and huge round mirror over it? Add dramatic black slate behind and it could read as, "Oooh," instead.
We also corrected the too-narrow doorway between kitchen and bath, replacing an awkward swing door with a roomy pocket door.
The rest of this dramatic update swaps '80s-era green glass mosaic for black river rock, and adds a slate window niche.
