BEFORE AND AFTER
West End Revamp
This project was a "kill two birds" situation: The living/dining space had several architectural anomalies that were addressed by adding desperately needed bookshelves.
Somehow, the space had ended up with double arches on either side of a structural column, creating a view from the foyer that resembled a stereoscope. Closing off one of the arches made space for a much needed storage closet, backed by a bookcase. All the existing bookcases were reworked, and their backs painted red to mirror the dining room wall (also repainted a cheerier shade). New floors, a Poulson light fixture, spiffy textiles, and a wall color better suited to the northern exposure, complete the makeover.
