BEFORE AND AFTER

Petite Brownstone Kitchen

This tiny brownstone kitchen got a whole lot of vintage appeal in the makeover, with a farm sink, bridge faucet, stone counter, and map lights. Fixing the layout was easy: set the fridge into an adjacent alcove and add a tall pull-out pantry; move the stove out of the squishy corner, and install a dishwasher where the stove had been.

The raised stone floor tiles were replaced with resilient cork stained to match (and level with) the surrounding wood floors. We kept the existing open shelves, as they just needed some small adjustments and a fresh coat of paint. Even with custom cabinetry and high end appliances, this was a remarkably budget project with big style payoff.
