BEFORE AND AFTER

Meh to Maximalist

The client had chosen a fabulous green Moroccan floor tile before we met, and that sparked a layered mix of maximalist accents, strikingly unlike your basic white subway tile bathroom (which this also is).

The original bath fixtures from 1917 were not salvageable, but that opened the possibility to build out the back wall deep enough to hide awkward corner columns, create a window niche over the new tub, and  install a sleek wall-mounted toilet.

However great effort went into restoring  the original doors and hardware -- even adapting one for the kitty's litter box.

Scroll down for the transformation.
